JAMES PATRICK SHEEHY
INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE FOR QUEENS PARK & CHARMINSTER: BCP LOCAL ELECTIONS 2027
I was born in Poole Hospital in 1994 and went to school all the way from nursery to high school in Hadow Road at what are now the Kinson Primary School & Bourne Academy. My family has lived in Bournemouth for over one hundred years; we are normal, local people who have long called this place our home. I live in Charminster with my husband Ben and our cat, Lancelot.

I am a CiLCA qualified clerk and run a small business as a self employed 'internal' auditor for town & parish councils. I also provide employment law advice and services to both employees and employers within the public sector. Prior to starting my business, I was employed as a Town Clerk managing teams of up to 40 staff and councillors for eight years.

I didn't go to university and taught myself public sector & local council law. You can do anything you want if you believe in yourself.

WHY BCP LOCAL ELECTIONS 2027?
Standing for election to BCP council isn't some ridiculous political game to me or a springboard to becoming an MP. I believe in public service and I believe in the potential of BCP. My motivation in life comes from being able to achieve positive change and make a genuine difference to people's lives.
Profit and material gain in the world means absolutely nothing in comparison to the joy of helping people and doing something for the greater good.

As as an independent candidate I want to apply my experience and knowledge from an elected position to help transform BCP into a modern, effective local authority. If you're reading this, I want the opportunity to earn your vote. If you are feeling disenchanted with democracy then I want to meet you and convince you of the power you have well beyond just that of an 'X' in a ballot box.
Some of the challenges and problems surrounding us aren't unique to BCP and are part of the biggest questions of our time. We live in an unprecedented age of information, mental demand and relentless pressure to be productive and positive contributors to society.

I will never claim to have all of the right answers, but I will never be anything less than fully committed to discovering what the right answers are. I want to be your councillor to open up the true potential of BCP council for you, your family and our towns together.
The rise of independent councillors is not an accident.

You don't have to submit yourself to vapid party political machinery to run a council properly. The illusion of competence with any political party might be compelling, but I know from professional experience that what matters most is the application, open-mindedness and commitment to public service of the people who are sitting around the decision making table.

We can repatriate our council from tribal politics and see a new council chamber of regular citizens committed to the principles of public life and our local area. We need councillors who treat council officers with respect and equip them with the tools, skills and support they need to get the job done. BCP is here to stay, so we need to get on with turning it into a council that is the envy of local authorities.

Choose conviction and vision over the political flotsam of Britain's ossified establishment
Choose a councillor who will have your back amongst everybody; not looking down on you from an ivory tower.

Choose me as your independent councillor for BCP 2027.
